frequently asked questions

What is Teppan-yaki?

It’s a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. The word teppan-yaki is derived from ‘teppan’, which is the metal plate on which it is cooked and ‘yaki’, which means grilled, broiled, or pan-fried. Popularized in North America starting in the 1960s, chefs cook, interact with diners and perform with flair.

Is Teppan-yaki healthy?

There are many teppan-yaki meals and, therefore, some of them are healthier than others.

However, ingredients used for Teppan-yaki are fresh and the iron grill distributes the heat slowly and evenly among them. Choosing a balanced combination of ingredients for dishes, like meat and vegetables or seafood and vegetables, is very healthy and balanced.

Is Teppan-yaki gluten-free?

All of the entrees and sauces at Japanese Village are gluten-free. (see below for more allergy information)

Loved the atmosphere and the service, but the best part was my son being able to enjoy everything even though he is gluten free! We will absolutely be back.
